Mozambique

Facing Madagascar and the Indian Ocean, Mozambique occupies about 2,500km of Africa’s eastern seaboard, much of which remains untapped by windsurfers and kiters. After years of abandonment during the lengthy – and bloody – civil war, Mozambique has rapidly established itself as an outstanding scuba diving destination. Yet warm temperatures, moderate winds and a profusion of reef- and beach-breaks mean there’s plenty on offer above the surface too. Two defined areas have been trail-blazed for windsports – one way up north near Tanzania, the other beside the southern border with Durban, South Africa.
