Isle of Wight
Roughly in the middle of the South Coast is the surprisingly large Isle of Wight– the white rock ‘Needles’ off the west coast can be seen from as far afield as Weymouth. It tends to be even sunnier here, but also noticeably windier and it picks up more swell than the nearby mainland – perfect for windsurfers and kitesurfers. Ferries cross from Lymington or Portsmouth to the Isle.
