Thy & Limfjord

Although shorter journey times to Fisher are tempting, many wave-addicts embark on the considerably longer trip to Thy & Limfjord. That’s because the country’s most radical breaks are in the north-west of Jutland. The waves here can get even bigger than down south while the breakwaters and mussel-reefs create epic conditions at renowned Nørre Vorupør, Klitmøller and Hantsholm. What’s more, Klitmøller’s various wave events ensure its cult status as ‘Cold Hawaii’. Extending across the whole country from North to Baltic Seas, the rugged Limfjord’s flat water provides an alternative to hardcore wave action.
