'South Beach' is prime Fehmarn sunbathing territory – so you’ll have to put up with the human traffic, picnic-baskets and tourist tax. But even worse, the island’s three ugliest buildings stand here – plus breakwaters and jetties in choppy waters. Apart from the hot acts during the Kitesurf Worldcup this is more for beach-volleyball or relaxing at Café Sorgenfrei. For surfing Fehmarn has better to offer.
