El Hierro

Fuerteventura

Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:

Secret Spots have a hard time these days as kites in the sky are so far visible. This also applies to El Hierro...however, insider knowledge remains essential here. Houserule No. 1 is not to launch before the surfers have left the water. Then, watch wehere the locals enter the water as this is the only stretch of lava rocks where you can reach the end of the reef somewhat safe. And last but not least: easterly winds are less strong that at neighbouring Majanicho and tend to die down even more suddenly around midday. If you're too far out then, you won't make it back home alone. Basically it's a hard core spot for experienced riders only and if there's no local out, then probably for a good reason and you shouldn't be the crashtest dummy.
