A bit north of the popular tourist town Puerto Princesa, a reef about half a kilometre off Emerald Playa protects flat standing-depth water on the inside from the small waves outside. Windy season is November to April, most reliable December and January, although it's usually just moderately breezy with the occasional 20+ knot day.
