Famara
Lanzarote
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
Famara merely shares an impressive backdrop with 'Playa del Risco'; conditions are the total opposite. This 4km-long sandy bay is wide open to swell from three directions, and you’ll hit land downwind every time. Simply choose your preferred wave size from the numerous beach-breaks in the bay. Be careful at low tide, when especially the bigger waves can be prone to close-out. Famara’s an amazing beginner venue on flat days too, and for kitesurfing it doesn’t matter that the Passat’s a Force or two weaker than on the east coast. Yet windsurfers only get a piece of the action in stormy southerly winds or when it’s nuking elsewhere. The sunset alone is worth the trip though.
