In north to north-easterlies Grüner Brink is Fehmarn's best venue. Standing-depth water provides safety, a jetty creates flat water inside, while the outer sandbank offers nice waves to jump and ride. A beach-break builds in north-westerlies too, although the sandbank waves will be slightly smaller. Equally liked by kiters and windsurfers, so pay attention on good days. The nature reserve (beyond the green posts to the left) and swimming zone are absolute no-go areas.
