Freeriders and wavesailors are equally happy either side of this peninsular. The east has perfectly flat water; the west hosts the island’s best Meltemi waves. The wind down here is more reliable and a Force or two stronger than on the west coast as it jets between the mountain and a small island offshore. The Meltemi likes to sleep in, so beginners get the chance to sail in the mornings.
