Santa Pola

The big beach of Santa Pola is very popular with the locals, offering a big windsurf club and a cool scene. The launch is west of the harbour in front of the new town apartments. Overall a very safe spot with a large standing-depth area that works very reliably in Leveche (southerly and onshore) from April to October, or in cross-onshore winter south-easterlies. A gently shelving beach means that the chop just gets bigger in a storm; in south-easterlies the water behind the harbour jetty stays super-flat, perfect for slalom and freestyle.
