Roll out of bed straight onto your board! It’s not just pros at the annual World Cup that appreciate 'Hotel Los Gorriones’ – this is the island’s most consistently windy spot. But even when up to 200 people are enjoying a good day in Sotavento, this mile-long sandy beach doesn’t get too crowded. Manned lifeguard towers and rescue boats from the centre ensure everyone’s safety. Windsurf and kitesurf areas are roomy and a small lagoon fills at high tide to create a perfect kite teaching area. There's one drawback though; the cross-offshore wind is pretty gusty, especially in summer.
