This launch is from 'It Soal' campsite, but visitors can park at the entrance and cross to the beach via a small bridge. There's a good atmosphere and perfect conditions for freeride, freestyle and kiting – beginners also enjoy 500m of standing-depth water. Sometimes it's really shallow, especially in the winter when about 30cm of water is drained from the IJsselmeer to allow for the rainfall. Otherwise westerly wind directions are best, but apart from offshore easterly everything is ridable. In high season (June to August) kiters must sign in with the kite school to confirm that they understand the riding rules.
