7bft Kitehouse

West Shore, Red Sea

Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:

At the northern end of Soma Bay sits a kite center called 7Bft and the name says it all. Here it usually blows 2-4 knots stronger than the forcast. However, due to the offshore wind there is hardly any wave at all. Turquoise water and no wetsuits needed from April to November. In Winter you should bring a shorty or short arm steamer. The standing depth area drys out at low tide, but there are rescue boats around to bring beginners back to shore. They mostly teach directly from boats anyway to be as close to their pupils as they can. Another highlight are downwinders to "Tobia Island", about 3 km offshore. For all in doubt being able to make it back upwind there are guided day trips with an acompanying boat and food packs available.

SUP Info

If there should be no wind at all, you could also spend your time SUPing.
