Trianda, Rhodes

The long shingle beach of Trianda (formerly 'Ialyssos') is one of Rhodes' most popular windsurfing venues. There's not enough space for kiting, but a string of all-round trouble-free windsurfing launches lines the beach. Kit-hire, surf-schools, security, sun-loungers, beach-bars, hotels of all sizes; everything you need is on hand. And of course, wind: Meltemi blows cross-shore from the left. If there’s enough to catapult beginners onto their sails in the morning, then it will blast all afternoon. Trianda and its neighbour 'Kremasti' enjoy a Venturi effect between Rhodes and the Turkish mainland, plus a thermal from 'Monte Smith’.
